WindowAlert decals help prevent wild birds from accidently striking windows. Each decal has a special coating that reflects ultraviolet sunlight. This ultraviolet light is invisible to humans, but birds see it as a brilliant glow much like a stoplight.

To the human eye, the decals appear as frosted or etched glass. The decals measure approximately 8 1/2 x 5 inches, and are designed to be placed on the OUTSIDE of a window. As a rough guide, we recommend one decal for every 3 x 3 section of glass. Reapply decals every 6-9 months.

CONTENTS: 2 Decals per Envelope. Each decal is approximately 5 x 8 inches. TYPE: Static cling.

(If a bird repeatedly attacks your windows, please consider our Stop Bird Attack product.)

Since adhering these decals to my bedroom window, which looks out into the backyard, not one lbb (little brown bird) has flown into the window! These decals save lives.

Beautiful and beneficial
November 10, 2014
We live in the Florida Keys and have 23 windows. We are on a major migratory route and see many, many species of birds from Hummingbirds to Eagles. I have placed these on a few of my windows along with the squares which are placed in the center of every window. They are unobtrusive to the view and I believe they are effective. Thank you for this simple solution to a horiible problem.

It doesn't work!!!
November 2, 2014
Please refer to the portion dealing with Cons!!
As I indicated in an earlier response I met with no success. The birds keep returning and we get no rest in our bedroom. I would be happy to send you a photo of both windows and perhaps you could have a solution for me. It wasn't worth the money that I spent unless you can recommend a different decal.

Hawk Window Decal
October 26, 2014
We put the hawk decal on the window right away. We don't want another bird to lose it's life on our windows. Here's hoping it will keep the dear birds away.

Doesn't work
September 26, 2014
Friends recommended we purchase the decals to deter birds from hitting the windows in attempt to fly through. It's been 2 weeks birds still attempt to fly through the windows. Product simply does not work to deter birds from hitting the windows.
Easy application

Bird Strikes
October 11, 2013
No more bird strikes! Our large windows reflect nearby trees and to add to the hazard we have plants inside the house near those windows. We installed both the hummingbird and the hawk design and both work about the same- no more bird strikes! This is our second order and the first batch has been effective since we installed it three years ago.

WindowAlert saves lives!
July 9, 2013
I'm posting this review as both praise and an FYI to potential buyers of WindowAlert decals: they do work, but need to be used properly! First of all, the UV fades, and decals need to be replaced every 6-9 months (this is normal). Get an extra set and put it aside, then use the UV Decal Tester to compare the unused to the used decals every few months (at night) to check on fading. Also, and this is very important: the decals should have no more than a 4"(vertical) by 2""(horizontal) gap between them! Otherwise

In wintertime I've experienced that the decal sticks better on the glas, after I made it wet with warm water. However I made the glass warm with warm water.

Overseas Use
March 13, 2013
I purchased these for use here in New Zealand after noticing a lot of bird strike at my office (which is a converted farm house) - three deaths in a week meant I had to do something. I used two hawk stickers on the big windows on one side of the house where the strikes were worst, and four butterflies on another window next to a tree I have a bird feeder in as I didn't want to scare them away entirely. They worked a charm and we had no strikes until about a week ago. I have had them up for about 8 months which I think is a reasonable length of time, especially as the NZ sun is particularly harsh and we have had a remarkably sunny summer. I am now ordering more so the birds can be safe for another 8 months.

Logical Design
October 23, 2012
I have fairly good sized windows - 20x40"~in banks of 2 each and a few sliding doors. I like the other designs but with the hawk I use one per window. I used this product in my previous house and know they do the job."
